Anti Cancer Drugs

Anti-cancer medicines are a broad class of pharmaceuticals used in the treatment of cancer. They are sometimes referred to as chemotherapy drugs or anticancer treatments.  Either eliminating cancer cells or preventing their growth and division is their primary objective.

Anti-cancer medications come in a wide variety, each with a unique mode of action. Typical varieties include some of the following:Alkylating agents: These medications harm cancer cells' DNA, stopping them from proliferating and dividing. Cyclophosphamide is an illustration of an alkylating agent.

Inhibitors of topoisomerase: These medications obstruct the enzymes that aid cancer cells in unwinding their DNA during cell division. Doxorubicin is an illustration of a topoisomerase inhibitor.

Targeted therapies: These medications specifically target chemicals that are essential to the development and viability of cancer cells. Imatinib is an illustration of a focused treatment.
